Database Programmer (Information Technology)

Occupational Summary:

  • SQL scripting, reports development, user support and back-end application programming and troubleshooting.

Work performed:

  • SQL scripting including database development, stored procedures and triggers
  • Back-end support of existing applications
  • Support end-users by troubleshooting and resolving day-to-day issues of data integrity and data inconsistencies, performance.
  • Develop Crystal Reports and SQL scripts to help track organizational performance and analyze trends and reconcile data between systems.
  • Coordinate with front-end developers

Education:

  • BA or BS degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in MS SQL database programming and report development (prefer Crystal Reports).
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in client support and technical issue resolution.
  • Thoroughness and an eye for detail.
  • Eagerness to learn, share, and apply new skills and trends.
  • Team player with good communication skills.


Vice President of Medical Services
DAN is seeking a physician for the position of Vice President of Medical Services. This position is located at DAN Headquarters in Durham, North Carolina. This opportunity includes extensive diving medical consultation; medical program development; risk assessment; oversight, evaluation and quality assurance; supervision of professional staff and functioning as a member of a multidisciplinary senior management team.

This position is responsible for the operation and activities of the DAN Medical Department; provides medical guidance and oversight for the DAN Medical Emergency Hotline, the DAN Medical Information Services (both phone and electronic communication) and works cooperatively with the DAN Medical Consultant(s) to assure necessary compliance with current best diving medical practices.

Position requires an MD or DO degree. Candidate should have received additional specialized training in Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine by way of a recognized Hyperbaric Fellowship, Military training and/or Board certification.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a working knowledge of diving in all its forms and applications and how these constituencies interact with and support diving medicine and research. This includes but is not limited to recreational, scientific, public safety, commercial and military applications.

It is preferred that the successful candidate has:

  • A minimum ten years experience as an MD or DO, with at least half of this time being in undersea and hyperbaric medicine
  • A minimum two years experience with budget and cost projections
  • A minimum of four years of research and project management
  • Previous experience in statistical and data analysis and reporting
  • A record of academic accomplishment as determined by first or senior authorship of scientific/medical publications and grant support
  • Experience in public speaking or presentations involving groups of all sizes and academic backgrounds.
  • Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience may also be considered.
